Do You Have Your Diagnosis or Does It Have You?

I’ll be honest. This is one of those articles that is all in the title. You have your diagnosis, though, right? 

It doesn’t have to be a medical thing. You could be diagnosed as a funny guy, a slow learner, ADHD, or “bad knee guy.” No matter the diagnosis, the insight is the same.

Do you have it or does it have you?

If you use these labels to inform your own action and agency, then they might have a purpose. If you start to use your labels as a means to absolve agency, they might have you. 

And, that’s trouble.
