First, you’ve got to hear the premise. All of your decisions are made for great reasons. Yup, even the “bad” ones. That said, nearly any strategy works.. Until it doesn’t
Let’s investigate.
Knowing the limit of any particular strategy (or at least assuming that there is a limit) is an important insurance policy against becoming trapped in ineffective patterns. Making rigid, principled ice bath morning routines might be a wonderful life strategy, for example. Assuming it has limits might protect you from realizing the strategy no longer serves you when your kids never get to see you before school.
Be extra aware if you’ve had some success. Longer term success stories are ripe for strategies that worked to get there, but no longer support forward progress. Remember, even your worst habits have positive intent.
The million dollar question is: what isn’t working?
