TRIGGER WARNING! There will be two sensitive topics discussed in the top of this article. Firstly, we’ll address the fact that time flies and it’s nearly October. Second, there will be shameless sports references and metaphors that can be disturbing to some readers.
October 1st marks the start of the fourth quarter. Yes, this is offensive and shocking, but it’s also true. (Sports reference incoming.) But, as we know, teams that bear down and are strong in the fourth quarter tend to outpace teams who coast. It’s even become a figure of speech in the sports world and let me tell you:
You want to be a fourth quarter player.
Not only do you want to be a fourth quarter player. You want to be with teammates who are fourth quarter teammates and you want to build a fourth quarter team.
There are very few opportunities to separate yourself from the pack in life (or sport). This is one of them. Cruising to the finish is common, but it doesn’t have to be normal.
