Remembering the Circle of Excellence

If asked, could you describe a time when you were standing in your highest excellence? In other words, could you recall a time where you were all-systems-go, feeling that you were in your peak power?

There’s a part of my life that I don’t talk about much where I practice neuro linguistic programming (NLP). As an NLP Master Practitioner, we talk about a concept called your Circle of Excellence. This is a state that, when practiced, you can embody your highest self.

It’s a powerful tool especially before a big presentation or critical performance. We won’t be getting into the details of how to create and deploy your Circle of Excellence today, but the point remains.

We can shift our state.

I often only realize this by comparison, but it’s alarming noticing the negative self-talk and lack of presence in most adults as they move throughout their days. I think many more adults can name that they don’t like their current “state” or feeling, but don’t know how to change it.

Everything you do and say in the world comes from the state that you’re in. Thank goodness our state is malleable, right? The good news is you don’t even need to go down the NLP rabbit hole to change your state either. Don’t like your state? Your breath, thoughts, words, and physical location are just a few of many variables that can change how you are showing up in the world!
