Reframing Contractual Agreements

Contracts don’t matter until things break down. That’s why we should call them disagreements. Calling a contract an “agreement” is a bit misleading in that way.

I’m paraphrasing, but when I first heard this my jaw hit the floor. Maybe as you read this you aren’t in business in a way that actual contracts are a part of your life, but the lesson remains important. As humans, we’re all relating with each other that requires commitments, breaking commitments, and so on.

A contract is meaningless when things are going well.

How would it change things in your life if you structured your “contracts” into disagreements? Said differently, these “agreements” should be structured on how to handle a reality when sides are disagreeable.
