[WATCH] Unlikely Pair: An Origin Story

I can’t decide if origins matter. I wrestle with this because I like stories and I like tracing things to their beginnings. On the other hand, I also firmly believe that we should be judged not on our pasts, but on our trajectories. 

Still, scars and pasts can make for interesting stories. They may not define us, but they inform who we are. Talking about my origins has helped me come to terms with who I am and what I have to offer the world. 

Logan and I were recently given the opportunity to share how the threads of two very different stories were woven together to birth our non-profit DEUCE Community. 

I hope you enjoy the story, but much more, I hope you realize that the story is not about Logan and me. It’s about people none of us have ever met. People who have been judged to be absent of potential or value. People whose promise won’t be realized unless you choose to believe in it.
