When Humans Acclimate in Dangerous Ways

What have you gotten used to? Deep down, you know what I mean. Or, maybe you don’t and some examples will help. 

The light hearted ones that come to mind are things like in college how used to drinking tons of alcohol I got. My body got tons of practice and what definitely isn’t normal became normal to me. I got used to it. 

I’ve also gotten used to other things that are more serious, like being supremely unhappy in my life. Who knew you could get so used to a certain state that you’d forget enjoyment all together? 

Humans have a radical superpower of adaptation. 

We can accommodate our environment extremely well. Sometimes this backfires, though, and we acclimate to things that aren’t helpful, productive, or supporting our highest self. 

So, here’s the million dollar question: what have you gotten used to?

Whether it’s a bad relationship, being unfit, being tired all the time, or something else, here’s your nudge to make a move. Remembering what something else is like could be the most liberating feeling you didn’t know you could have.
