Learning Inextricably Linked to Humility

I’m confident that all people reading this sentence would say that learning is inherently “good”. The positive connotation is pretty straightforward. That said, learning has some requirements.

The act of learning requires some level of subordination.

If your ego won’t allow yourself the humility to recognize someone else as superior to your knowledge base, you cannot learn. Said differently, arrogance is at odds with one’s ability to learn. Whether you acknowledge it or not, a desire to grow assumes a willingness for humility.

The million-dollar question, then, is are you humble enough to learn?
