Don’t be fooled by an easy effort. The best performances in the world as one’s that hardly look like anything more than a walk in the park. They used to say the best catchers in baseball were the ones you never noticed. After all, who’s the best accountant in the world? The one you never worry about, of course. There’s a number of different ways we can scale up difficulty. Hell, anything can be made easier or harder, and I’m not just talking about gym things like push ups. How you do you job and how you manage your daily tasks can be made easier or harder, as well?
I’m a big fan of difficulty. Increasing challenges forces adaptation and regardless of our pursuits evolution is the goal. That being said, often times the highest degree of difficulty is to do something challenging and make it look easy.
Come to think of it the only thing harder than walking a tight rope between two sky scrappers on a unicycle, blind folded while juggling would be to do all that and make it look easy. Whether it’s your movement in the gym or how you handle being at work late, getting the kids, and making dinner, making it look easy is the highest badge of honor, and one worth shooting for.
That being said, if you see someone who’s living life easy breezy, be careful before you judge their lassie faire attitude. They might just be a ninja doing life at expert level!
