Showing Your Uncommitted Hand

Here’s a shocking truth. If you’re talking about doing something, like as to say, “I’m going to start kite boarding lessons,” two things are true:

  1. You aren’t.
  2. You’re buying more time.

I first heard this from Naval Ravikant, who’s made nine figures investing in brands early on like Twitter. He’s likely very lucky, or damn smart; probably both. After doing a bit of kicking the tires on this thought, I’ll assume he’s at least quite smart.

When I started ju jitsu recently, I talked about it for months before hand. The day I started? I didn’t say a word. I just went. Talking about action is the absence of action.

If you want change, you’re just going to do it. So, don’t talk about it. If you do, you’re showing your uncommitted hand.
