In the second week of our temporary book club called the ‘Going Right Mastermind’ we admitted to ourselves that if we’re going to accomplish anything remarkable, we’ll need a commitment that won’t quit. This opened the door to the idea of motivation and how it unfortunately comes and goes.
Luckily for the world’s best performers, commitment helps us tether our efforts to something more lasting than motivation. Discipline, for example, is the ability to persist without the presence of motivation. Since greatness doesn’t come when it’s convenient, we’ll need this type of commitment present. Participants began a process of understanding their deepest core values in order to align commitments in more powerful ways.
Watch the video above and feel welcome to join me and Art Maltavan for a series of talks Monday evenings at Roosterfish Bar at 7pm in Venice Beach until August 19th. These talks are built around the principles inside of my best-selling book, Going Right: A Logical Justification for Pursuing Your Dreams and are specifically for the greater DEUCE community.
