Great experiences are few and far between. That’s part of the reason we cherish those moments. If everyday was skydiving and live music, surely the luster would wear off of those things, too. There’s a fine line, however, between the experience something (or someone) provides and the experience that YOU bring to life.
How many times have you heard someone complain about their high school, college, job, or otherwise? “This place is lame,” they might say. Most times, I often wonder what type of experience these folks are creating. I wonder, “Well, what side of the rope are you pulling on?” Surely, that attitude isn’t fun.
If an experience is what you’re after, the best place to start is with yourself. The perfect recipe for a lackluster experience is a poor attitude. If you’re expecting others to provide the fun, don’t hold your breath.
This experience is rich, but then again so is any experience if you make it. If you’re not having a good time, look inward before you point fingers.
