Those Who Need Advice Don’t Take

The odds are that you reading this sentence likely means you’re least likely to benefit from the information that’s regularly featured in this blog. It’s easily the most frustrating part of being a coach.

Millions of Americans need fitness help and they won’t be found, by definition, in gyms where the coaches are. This blog is similar.

The worst part about having an online education platform is having the technology to track progress. I mean, it’s an incredible technology feature, but it pains me to see proof for this theory I’ve had that says:

“Advice goes to those who need it least.”

When I look at the data of participation and compliance to our educational courses like Business Prep 101, Leadership Laboratory, Coach’s Prep 101, etc, the most successful students are the most engaged. Shocking? No. Self-fulfilling prophecy? Likely. Frustrating? Yup.

If an area of learning feels hard, tedious, slow, or difficult, take it as a signal that you’re out of your depth and that’s the point.

Keep swimming there.
